Our story…

We are Kate and Saleh, a British-Egyptian family living in Sussex.

In Egypt Saleh was known as ‘The Egyptian with a green finger’ because of his ability to make plants and trees thrive in the desert like conditions where he lived. When he moved to the UK he mixed his love of gardening with his talent for building and precision and has made a name for himself as a skilled landscape gardener.

Saleh grew up around the Nile in the South of Egypt and moved to the Sinai when he was an adult where we met. We married in 2015 had our eldest boy and travelled before eventually settling in the UK in 2018. We now have three wonderful, lively boys. We have always dreamed of bringing quality products and materials from Egypt to the UK and we are pleased to now be making our dreams a reality.

Made in Egypt - Sold in Sussex and beyond

We work with a talented and skilled potting family from Al Fayoum - an ancient pottery village which still produces the best pottery in Egypt. The family have been in the potting trade for many years and have passed their trade down through generations. All of our products are hand crafted, meaning no two are the same. They are baked in a ginormous traditional kiln for many days at high temperatures. This makes them hardy and durable and made to last a lifetime.

Here in the UK we work with Sussex garden center, Garden Sage where all of our pots and vases are stocked. They are passionate and knowledgeable about all things garden and are all about championing small local businesses. We feel so lucky to be working with this brilliant local business who have supported us since the beginning of our journey.
